Harley and Buddy both placed 2nd at the Northern Arizona German Shorthair Pointer Club in Paulden, AZ. Harley ran Saturday in the Open Limited Gun Dog stake in the 2nd brace and had a very nice forward race in big open country to be spotted pointing about 300 yards to the front. His manners were flawless and was sent on only to be spotted rimming the course all the way around. Maybe a little to big to find more birds. He was called in to water at 20 minutes and let go only to be spotted at extreme range with power to spare. His call back and race got him a second place to the Casdorph's "Bo" who did a winners job of race, handle, and bird finding.

Buddy ran Sunday morning in the Open Gun Dog retrieving stake with a nice breakaway leaving his brace mate behind and found his first bird just before the first turn. Steady to flush and shot, he was sent on and he then started showing his talent. Running big, checking in at a distance, and finding two more birds with his brace mate backing on his third. Heading into a 40 mph wind, he shortened up but finished nice and handled with ease. He did a very nice job for a 2 1/2 year old starting to make his mark. We are looking forward to his contribution to the team next year and expect he will be even stronger.
